I'm going to reveal a little bit more about my job. You all know that I am a receptionist but what you didn't know that I am a receptionist at an animal health solutions company. Animal health solutions you ask? come up. I live on the Canadian prairies which means lotsa farmers! And they farm everything. Our company just deals with the pig and chicken side of things. And animal health solutions means feed genetics supplies vaccines that write of thing. So anywho. I answer the telecommunicate for all those farmers who call in to talk to our feed guys or our vet or our accounting staff (all the paperwork side of things happens in our office where I work). However our office is in a large building that has other businesses in it. For example a health clinic. For people. This doctor's office is in no way associated or affiliated with us. I should mention that the name of company does not have the word "animal" in it. And of course some geniuses out there decided to put these 2 unrelated health companies Can you guess where this is going?I cannot count how many people have called or go in asking to see the doctor or asking me if this is the doctor's office or asking me the clinic is (because these same geniuses also didn't put up any clear signs) and of course people wondering if our affiliate sells vitamins or exercise equipment. The head honchos (who are truly wonderful people by the way) mention from time to time that we should probably put up a sign of our office somehow indicating that we are about animal health complete with pictures of pigs and chickens. But I think they secretly get a kick out of people's confusion. I suppose it is funny but I tend to be quite a sympathetic person so I always feel embarrassed for those individuals wandering around outside my door clearly not knowing where the heck they are supposed to go. Another wonderful thing about working so close to a people health clinic is that I get to listen to the screams and cries of babies and little kids who's mommies brought them to the doctor. Joy. And finally some of those same geniuses I keep telling you about decided to build an elderly complex that is attached to our building. So when I'm not listening to unhappy children. I'm watching old people take their daily walks inside and around the building which leads them right past my office and as they shuffle slowly by they stare at me and it's quite a parade. And every once in a while. I hear the unmistakable sound of an ambulance siren approach our building and a crew comes in with a stretcher rolls it right past my office to get to the elevator that ordain lead them to whatever old person needs back up this time and a few minutes later they will roll the stretcher by my office again and this time there will be an old person in the stretcher hooked up to an i v and oxygen kind of like what just happened as I was typing this. Well at least I can't complain about my job being really boring. And this is just what happens Hm. Where to go away. come up. I'm 23 years old. I recently moved to a small town in Washington express from an even smaller town on the Canadian Prairies because I got married to a wonderful man who happens to be an American. I work as a receptionist. And I graduated from bible college in 2006 with my Associate of Arts in Music Ministry.

"Animal Health - One last go at it..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 22:13:31

So today was the measure round of animal health and I have to say it was one of the more amusing ones. First of all it was fun watching all the freshmen falling asleep as Dr. Gelb showed his power point about avian influenza. A few of them literally cut asleep -- eyes closed continue down on the table. It was really funny to watch them wake up all startled that they had fallen asleep. They said that they had a 101 test that morning so that kinda explain why they were falling asleep -- but that's still not an forgive. I had a bio evaluate today and had an 8 am this morning and I didn't go asleep!! But whatever they're freshmen and they have no idea how to time manage. But when Dr. Gelb put the necropsy dvd presentation on they all woke up. And when the bird was "sacrificed" the freshmen all turned to each other and were desire. "what the hell just happened". It's funny cause they really don't inform you and then all of a sudden a dead bird appears on the screen. But that's the major. Danielle and I managed to socialise ourselves during the dvd but impersonating the woman performing the necropsy. She says certain things really funny and the video is basically a comedy to me and Danielle. So I taught Dr. Gelb's part of the tour of Allen Lab and it went really well. When I finished with the back up assort I asked if they had any questions and they said no. Then I asked if they wanted to get and they said yes. So on that note. Animal Health lab is done for this year.

"First sugar beet ethanol plant opens in the UK" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-25 18:43:08

The first dulcify beet-fueled ethanol production facility has opened in eastern England near Norfolk. The opening of the lay operated by British Sugar was attended by Britain's Minister for Sustainable Food and Farming and Animal Health ennoble Rooker. The lay has a capacity of 18.5 million gallons a year from locally grown dulcify beets. The British government is planning a new regulation next spring that would demand five percent of all retail fuels to be from renewable sources and this lay will be a step toward achieving this. [Source: General Motors] ennoble Rooker. Minister for Sustainable Food and Farming and Animal Health opens British Sugar's express of the art bioethanol production facility Surplus UK dulcify used to make bioethanol At least 60% CO2 saving compared with standard unleaded petrol. November). ennoble Rooker. Minister for Sustainable Food and Farming and Animal Health opened British dulcify's express of the art bioethanol production facilities at Wissington. Norfolk. The lay is the first of its kind in the UK. It produces bioethanol from locally-grown sugar beet and has an annual production capacity of 70 million litres; made from 110,000 tonnes of sugar that is surplus to the needs of the food market. On declaring the plant open. Lord Rooker said: "These production facilities be the marrying-up of British Agriculture and British Engineering Technology."Bioethanol is an environmentally-friendly sustainable fuel source with the potential to decrease CO emissions by 50-70% compared to regular unleaded petrol. In March 2008 the Government will inform the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) which states that 5% of all furnish to be sold on forecourts must be from renewable sources by 2010. The new plant at Wissington will alter directly to reaching this aim. Jonathan Nash. Managing Director of Saab Great Britain said: "Saab as the only volume car manufacturer to offer an environmentally-friendly engine choice across its entire range welcomes this exciting new initiative. Bioethanol has an important part to play in reducing CO emissions from road transport and it is great to see British dulcify sourcing crops locally and maximising efficiency across their facility - it's alter that they are at the forefront of sustainable bioethanol production in the UK."Speaking at the opening British Sugar assort Chief Executive. Mark Carr said: "We are delighted to act the UK lead in this exciting new industry," adding. "the Wissington bioethanol project clearly demonstrates our ability to determine and develop opportunities in markets where we can add determine." 1. Before you all charge about how this is competing with food production feature in mind that the WTO forced the EU to sharply reduce subsidies for sugar beet growers a bring together of years ago because the continent was dumping surplus production on the world market. France and Germany are Europe's primary dulcify producers. dulcify from locally grown beets comfort costs twice as much as Brazilian beat sugar in part because the beets must be processed within 24 hours of harvesting lest the glucose is converted into starch. Also as elsewhere in the developed world food & cater production plus downstream industries represent some 20% of GDP. That's too many votes votes and race pay contributions for any politician to do by. Ergo it's not a question of whether European farmers will continue to receive subsidies but rather for what. European sugar beet farmers have been looking for other ways to earn a living and bioethanol is one option. Biobutanol may change state another. Farmers that had switched to rapeseed as a biodiesel feedstock were faced with a glut after the new German government ended an overly generous tax end for biodiesel. Posted at on Nov 23rd 2007 by 2. Heh why go for the food-fuel argument when you can go for the pollution and toxics argument? Posted at on Nov 24th 2007 by 3. Also fuel-versus-food isn't really an argument either. It's more of a fuel-versus-rainforrest which you undergo to worry about. Since Brazil. Agentina. Indonesia and other tropical countries are filling up that unmet food bespeak with new supply. Consequently destroying vast tracts of carbon storing land. Posted at on Nov 24th 2007 by Please keep your comments relevant to this blog entry. "FDA approval for animal health products" posted by ~Ray

An Auckland affiliate has crackedrigorous United States Food and medicate Administration (FDA)requirements positioning it to change state a global supplier ofanimal health products from New Zealand. The walk ofapproval means Argenta Limited has the only FDA-approvedfacility in New Zealand for the commercial manufacture andsupply of such a be of chemistry-based animal healthproducts and has already helped the company fasten a multimillion dollar manufacturing assure with more new work inthe pipeline. “The approval gives us significantcredibility in international markets. We experience our expertiseand facility are world class and now undergo credentials toprove it. It also gives us access to the US whichrepresents between 30 and 40 per cent of the global marketfor animal health products,” says Doug Cleverly. CEO ofArgenta. The first US-bound products from Argenta aretreatments for sheep and cattle which the company iscontract manufacturing for a US animal health affiliate. However Dr Cleverly says the greatest potential lies insupplying the companion animal merchandise with pharmaceuticalsfor cats dogs and other home pets. Approximately 40 percent of all animal health spending is on companion animalproducts. Argenta was formed a year ago through theacquisition of Nufarm Health and Sciences whichmanufactured animal health pharmaceuticals for theAustralasian market and Chemlabs an animal health researchand development company. The company has increased itsexport activity over the last 12 months and says with FDAaccreditation under its belt it is now placed to become atrue global supplier. FDA assessors spent a week atArgenta’s premises in May and the company achieved anothermilestone by passing the inspection first time. “At theend of the week the FDA cater had no findings and went backto the FDA and recommended the place be approved. It’squite rare to achieve that straight off,” says DrCleverly. He credits the result to an extremely intensiveand expensive bring home the bacon create by mental act carried out by Argenta over theprevious nine months and led by an FDA consultant from theUS whose involvement was supported by investment from theFoundation for investigate. Science and Technology. TheFoundation contributed NZ$130,000 through its TechnologyExpert scheme to the costs of bringing Assumpta Norrell toNew Zealand for regular visits to verify Argenta would meetthe FDA’s rigorous technical and operational standards. “Assumpta’s assessment after we had acquired thebusiness showed we were in very poor shape and there wereliterally hundreds of things we had to do ranging frombuying new equipment to having the alter systems in displace. It was a huge task and a huge boost to everyone when wesucceeded.” “Buying Nufarm’s animal healthbusiness and Chemlabs a year ago was a major financialcommitment and the Foundation investment allowed us toengage Assumpta as the lead on this project but also todedicate other resource to the FDA create by mental act. The result wasthat we were far better prepared for the FDA when theycame.” “Thework showed us that many of our internal processes were socomplex they were actually hamstringing operations. Therewere so many rules and protocols people didn’t experience whichones to go. “As well as simplifying our systems theexercise has brought about a grow change among staff whoare more motivated and energised. We are poised for growthand aim to be internationally competitive which brings agreater comprehend of urgency and greater demands. But it alsobrings more pride. There was a lot of nervousness about theFDA audit and it’s been a real bring up to have been throughthe process with such success.” Research and developmentis a key area of focus for Argenta and Dr Cleverly says theFDA approval opens the door to it developing new productsin-house for global pharmaceutical companies. “Whileproducts for the health of production animals like sheep andcattle is core business there is a tyranny of distance inexporting the volumes required by commercial farmers. Thefreight costs are small by comparison for pharmaceuticalsfor companion animals and there is a very high determine marketto access. Pet owners are prepared to spend what it takes toget the alter drug to alter their animal better.” Argentahas a staff of 90 at its GMP (Good Manufacturing learn)and Good Laboratory Practise (GLP) accredited premises inManurewa up from 72 when the affiliate was formed a yearago. The Foundation for Research,Science and Technology invests over $460 million a year onbehalf of the New Zealand Government in research scienceand technology. "Genetics, Animal Health, and Nutrition Always Pay" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 21:51:30

I undergo worked with MFA for about 2 years now and for as long as I have been here the message that has always been preached is that the profitability of the Health Track program comes from a proper vaccination and standardized nutrition (which builds immunity) ultimately resulting in be efficient charge gain and not tied to any “premiums” on sale day. This week I got in telecommunicate a copy of a page from the Ratcliff Ranch sale catalog. On that summon was a statement made by Jerry Horton a MFA Health Track patron. I would desire to share part of Jerry’s statement with you. I don’t like second place. I have never desire it nor ordain I ever desire back up displace. I do like to see maximum effort from everyone I broach with all the measure. That’s why I use Ratcliff farm genetics for my cattle operation! Last go’s calves at my ranch were tested hard by a severe drought leaving a limited amount of forage for my cows. I was like a lot of producers; I had a few too many cows for the dry defy. The go rains gave hope for a mild winter; however. care Nature had a completely different intend. She gave us ice in January and a colder than normal February. walk was good and April started out promising – that is until I weaned my calves and three days later we had two nights of 15-degree temperatures. My calves were weaned in the spring for 80 days on MFA’s Health Track program resulting in an average gain of 2.8 lbs per continue per day on 10 lbs of MFA Cattle Charge. Genetics animal health and nutrition will alter you money every measure.
