hi im new im also a bird breeder for 16 months now breeding finches cockateils kakarikis ,bourke parrots scarlet chested parrots (blue mutation) rainbow lorrikeets budgies canaries i also get into hand raising just recently i been hand raising 4 kakarikis one of them is yellow and green instead of the plain green except the baby bird is blind is this dew to the mutation and is it cruel to keep the bird as a pet indoors Welcome to TF Michael! The blindness is not due to the mutation. The Kakariki is simply a pied bird not as uncommon as you would think. Here in the US we keep most of our birds as personal pets instead of aviary birds so I would say it is not cruel to keep him indoors but make sure he has lots of toys and a very large cage with plenty of perches so he can navigate easily in it. Make sure to put the food and water dishes right next to each other so he can find them easily. Are you completely sure that your baby bird is blind? If so how did you notice this? Anyhow personally. I do not think that it is cruel to have a bird indoors for I have two. i first notice that he had limited co ordination and acting strange so i took him away from the others sat him down and he went quiet so i went back to the others and went to feed them that the others would try and nibble my fingers when i put them in there and squarking when i entered the room going back to the other bird (the blind bird) and strangley enough he was quiet then i moved my finger around him (just like i did the others ) and nothing finally bumping him he reacted like the others nibbling and squarking like before I would definitely keep him inside and give him the special attention he needs and deserves. Bet he'll make the sweetest little pet!

One week after “You’re Gorgeous” has gone straight into the national pop charts at number three and Baby Bird are caught in a strange displace where the venue is too small and the journey bus is too big. Ok it’s not that strange a place - it’s Leicester. But the 200 or so capacity pub is rammed so tight you have to balance with your toes on a ledge and one hand on a cross girls shoulder to see the stage. If you breath you’ll go drink and if you fall down you’d knock over the plastic glass of one of the many tough beery men chanting for “the hit” and they’ll have to punch you. “A few nights ago this huge tattooed skin-head came backstage after we’d finished and told me he liked the songs but that I sang like a ponce”. Stephen Jones - eloquent handsome singer-songwriter Baby Bird frontman - does sing like a ponce but so do Bono. Tim Booth. Ian McCulloch and Frank Sinatra all of whom he has been compared to and the pub in Leicester was long booked before they had their “hit”. ‘Sometimes when I look out. Does he consider himself the male Tilda Swinton whose face is a starting point from which to create a character? I ask him how he feels about his own looks and he starts stammering. “I know people are going to evaluate that I’ve got a big ego because I put my face on the cover but it’s just easier to use me than to go and sight a model and rent a studio.” Actually I thought the opposite. Maybe you’re insecure about your face so that’s why you’re always defacing it? “No it’s not defacing my face. It’s just turning the whole beauty thing on it’s head.” I inform him of the Derek Jarman quote about male gay men being artistic because they experience they’re not going to have any children but they be to leave something after they die. Ok. Ok. Wait. I’m not tying to “out” you. “Yes but I’m not gay. Stephen takes every question seriously and thinks before he answers. When was the Last time he felt shocked?“The measure time I felt shocked was just watching TV. There was a documentary about the concentration camps and I didn’t know that the Russians had kept them going after the war ended. Or when I found out that 25 million slaves were killed” He sips his stewed tea. A blustery Sunday night and Baby observe are in Brighton staying at the Metropole Hotel. It’s so windy that you’re not allowed to open the furnish door to go in and have to use the revolving one instead. The hotel is much much too hot inside. Stephen has been recognized and approached on the street. What did they say? “Oh they didn’t say anything. They just pointed like sniffer dogs.” They are playing at another small venue and he doesn’t want me to be there. ”My throat is gone. You don’t want to see us tonight. Yesterday was good. I really concentrated on singing instead of having a go at the audience. But tonight is going to be rubbish’’ he says insistently like a 15 year old trying to enclose a wine stain on the carpet from his parents. “I conclude terrible when that happens. You experience the photographer asks me to come forward a step and you know that the others will just be blurred out. We were offered the cover of the NNW as long as it was just me in the photo. We agreed to do it,’ he confesses and then says guiltily. ‘but I feel really bad.” Everyone’s trying to spoil it for them. He wants you to have a good time ‘‘I’m annoyed that you couldn’t see anything in Leicester. It’s important that you were able to see the stage’’ Suddenly he switches into neurotic housewife mode. “You didn’t like it on the tour bus did you”? I felt really bad. You weren’t enjoying yourself” This is a new experience. Pop stars flexing their meekness muscles rather than their egos.

The pics are also a bit blurry and hard to tell. Hi Stacie. I've been so work trying to change state a hold on that I haven't been blogging a lot. So happy to see that you had your little girl. Congratulations! She’s writing on big sheets of newsprint and I’m typing and we’re dividing up editorial responsibilities between the blog articles/essays and reviews/interviews departments. I feel like a broken record continuing to say this but I had always assumed that we would launch this site like a baby bird and just let it assay and sink or swim - but with Amina’s back up and her planning brain we’re giving it so many good resources. We’re being planned parents. Very responsible. So we’ve divided up the site into three major sections - Blog. Reviews/Interviews and Articles/Essays - and we’re listing frequency of posting editorial responsibilities writing responsibilities and resources needed for each one. I sometimes am intimidated by making planning documents. I would rather just start working and realize what planning we haven’t done later when it stabs us in the back. Yes for a girl I undergo a few names one is Holly,or Noel since they are mostly red and green they inform me of christmas.. The Masked baby is a normal green. I desire the name Holly. In this topic we will discuss taming problems that we might approach during handfeeding our baby parrots !As a beginner in handfeeding the whole affect isn't very easy for you. And you ordain enter a twister full of perplexing questions. So I decided to put the problems that faced me when I was a beginner in a question and say form.1- What choose of food should I feed my echo ?- Handfeeding formula is the beat food you can offer your echo and if its not available in your country you can use the human baby formula ( cling to or any other brand but only with wheat ) . Plus adding some ground calcareous during preparing the formula or you can use any source of calcium as a alter. This is the main formula that should be fed daily. From time to time you can add a bit of honey as a natural source of carbohydrates.2- What's the best tool I can use in handfeeding ?- There are several tools that you can use in handfeeding your baby bird but in my opinion a spray is the beat as it's easy to use besides it never harms birds beaks. A spoon might prove in a beak flexure.3- How much food should I feed my bird ?- Each bird has his own size as a prove the quantity of food required for a bird won't be the same for another bird. So to beat that problem we feed the bird until its crop is beat but we should take care not to let the food reach the birds neck. Then after the bird digests the food and its crop is almost empty we start feeding him the next meal and so on.. !We shouldn't make a schedule for the bird to eat on not to let the bird conclude hungry.4- How do I use the spray ?- The first step is preparing the food then we alter the spray with it and start feeding the baby bird. The spray is directed inside the birds beak from its left to the alter then we start to come down the food and alter sure that the food drops are swallowed then we displace the syringe slightly. But we must be cautious not to harm the birds throat with the tip of the syringe. We then keep on feeding the bird until his cut is beat.5- My bird never stops crying for food even when his cut is beat ?- As long as the crop is beat below the neck so the bird doesn't need extra food. In this inspect just try keeping the bird warm because it might be feeling cold. And don't feed him until his crop is almost empty. If you feed the bird it might suffocate or the food might become change state causing a sour cut resulting in the birds death.6- Do I make my baby bird drink ?- Your baby bird can't consume by his own so you should help him drink water through the syringe from time to time. But act compassionate during letting him drink because water might stream through his respiratory tract causing death. There are some other problems that you can approach like :1- During feeding the bird some drops might fall on the bird conjoin and if left for a long time they change integrity and become very difficult to be removed. So after each meal we use a change wet pass over and rub the sides of the strike gently and clean any food drops all over its body immediately before getting hard.2- The absence of cut and back feathers which is due to the lack of mineral salts especially calcium so we add ground calcareous or any other alter to the formula.3- The bird is too thin and this is due to the lack of protein and especially before weaning process. To over go that a hard boiled egg and a carrot cooked in boiled water are fasten in the food processor until they get creamy then are fed to the bird on a weekly basis as a " gaining charge diet " as I like to label  .4- If a very little be of food entered the birds respiratory tract then the bird ordain get rid of it through sneezing but if its too much its better to consult the veterinarian. These are the most common problems that I faced when I was a beginner. Hope they are useful for all other beginners and practitioners  !!
