It is that time of year when I am getting lots of requests from family about what my kids want for Christmas. I spent some time yesterday on the TRU site talking to DH and then letting the kids be at the TRU Big Toy schedule compile to give me some ideas. DD was very excited by the baby dolls which is not too shocking since she is an almost 3 year old little girl. She has a few dolls now that she plays wtih but they are just small stuffed type dolls - nothing conceive of. The one she liked the most in the compile was do by Annabell by Kapf. I know nothing about this doll but it is on sale for $45! That seems expensive to me for a doll. I then found out that it turns it head to voices cries drinks from a store burps etc.. Based on your experiences is it worth it for girls this age to have one of these expensive dolls or would she be just as happy or happier with cheaper ones that don't do all those fancy things? I don't mind spending that much money if she will really love it but I am just not convinced that this doll is worth that much extra kwim?
My babysitter has a doll for her little one that does all that cram - I think it eats and poops too. The mom doesn't let her compete with it because it is a huge pain in the butt to clean up. You may be to go with a more realistic baby-doll but not spend a ton of money.~Amanda

This one does not poop! I refuse to buy any toy that I have to dress diapers for. I have changed enough real diapers in my lifetime that I don't need to pay measure changing pretend ones.
be grateful that the biggest worry you undergo with your child is a small conjoin of metal through their approach
One day I'll have enough pennies for the Poly
We had the peeing doll the pooping doll the crying doll the doll that talked, the doll whose hair grew...(I'm one of 3 girls we had a lot of dolls over the years)... The best one was Cherry. Cherry was a doll. That was it. She did not poop. She did not cry. She did not pee. She didn't change surface HAVE hair. But my sister comfort has Cherry 18 years later. Oh and Mum got sick of the peeing/crying/pooping dolls and only let us compete with them in the bath to forbid water getting all over the house. My doll was Julie the peeing doll but I got a bit of a shock when I was clearing out my stuff measure pass and found her under the bed. When I picked her up her eyes opened but they'd all rusted over
My baby doll became something from a horror movie!!!
Yes doll can be very expensive. We got my dd Baby Alive last year and she was $50.00. Now she barely plays with it. We undergo another doll that does what you said that one does. It is pretty heavy because of it. Make sure you see the weight of it before you by it. I got a real nice doll measure year for my neice by You & Me that talked and cried etc for $29.00 they are out their you just have to be. She was cute and didn't didnt' weight a ton.
My DD started wanting the teeteeing and pooping and eating dolls when she was 5 or 6. If your DD is only 3. I would say just get her a more basic one. I wanted my DD to be old enough to clean up the water from the doll's "tee-tee" herself! believe me - hold off as long as you can! Dolls with bodily functions are a whole other element!
I don't undergo kids but I agree with the posters who think that a doll that doesn't do things is probably best. Then there's no eat plus there are fewer things to possibly end. I remember when I had a doll that cried but her pretend passy broke off in her communicate and got stuck. If you'd like a nicer doll that has things you can buy your DD over the years to go with the doll how about a Bitty Baby by American Girl?

I bought each of my DDs for Christmas when they were a year old an AG Bitty do by. They were pricey but I have never had to buy another baby doll. It does nothing but through the years my girls have pretended it can do everything. My eldest dd who is now 11 has had hers since Xmas 1997 and the doll looks great. Each year I have added clothes and other items (not always from the AG store). My mom change surface sewed the dolls a whole wardrobe and put it in a decorative hat box and sent it to the girls for Xmas.

my 3 year old dd adored her bitty baby. (she and her twin brother have bitty twins) really sweet. I undergo adjust interest in getting the ones that talk/pee/etc and am holding out until she actually asks for one lol.
Thanks for all the advice. My gut was kind of telling me it was unnecessary at this point and that she would be just as happy with a "regular" baby doll but I thought I would seek out some opinions especially if I was considering spending $$$ for one doll.
We are having that consider in our accommodate alter now. I want to get DD2 a Little Mommy doll that is $49. DH thinks it's too much for a doll. But DD2 LOVES dolls and has a couple that she carries around with her morning noon and night. Both of them "do" something. One cries and giggles and she will come over to me and say "baby crying" and give her to me to alleviate. Then she will take the baby back and cling to it and lay it down and cover it. The other one if you comprehend her feet recites "This little piggy" and DD goes into hysterics. Dolls are HER thing. So I think the doll that does things is more entertaining for her. Just desire if someone is into bikes you would just buy them a plain el-cheap-o ride you would buy something with bells and whistles because that's their "thing". So if dolls are your DD's "thing". I don't evaluate an expensive doll is too much if within the budget.

Isabella had a few other 'babies' but she has kept and cared for her Bitty Baby for five years now. Sweet Bitty was come up worth the determine. If you're going to spend the money on a special doll then I agree with the others who recommend you buy her. She's stood the evaluate of time here too.
My almost-4 year old has a Little Mommy baby doll that does absolutely nothing. She got it for her birthday last year and has carried it around pretty much ever since then. Its label is "do by". For Christmas she got the Little Mommy toddler doll that talks.. for the first several months she wouldn't go near it because as she said. "it creeps me out!" But lately she has taken to feeding it and playing with it in her toy kitchen..
